• Many Qataris are upset that Qatar lost the football match against Uzbekistan in Doha yesterday. People are saying there is a need for strong action and change to be done. Many people are blaming the referee for Qatar’s loss in the match.
• Some people have been raising the issue how some newspapers publish a certain story and then the follow-up of that story, usually a denial, is published in a rival newspaper.
• There was a big discussion about the speech made by Kuwait’s former parliament member Musallam Al Barrak during a protest in his country yesterday. He addressed H H Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah in his speech to a crowd of supporters, “In the name of the nation, in the name of the people, we will not let you, your highness, ... practise autocratic rule.”
• Many people, particularly women, are hoping that creches at the workplace will be finally implemented. This will help working mothers focus more on work since they know their children are near and safe.
• People are suggesting to give whatever extra food they have after they dine at restaurants, to the people who are working on the streets instead of letting it go waste.
• There is a discussion as to why the police continue to issue tickets for illegal parking when they know that parking spaces are very limited near offices and government buildings and that respective ministries and organizations are not providing enough parking space to accommodate vehicles of employees and clients.
• Some people are reacting to the Prime Minister’s speech at the Qatar International Businesswomen Forum, where he said Qatar aims to put at least 30pc women in top leadership positions. They are hoping that it will not only be about the number of women but also about their results and performance.
• The Ministry of Interior is sending message through Twitter banning people from wearing shirts with offensive images and words.
• A discussion is going on as to whether the UAE will be able to bring together all the GCC countries for a united stand against the Muslim Brotherhood.
