Rainy weekend forecast for Qatar: QMD

Doha, Qatar: Thunder rain is expected to hit the country on Friday and Saturday, reported Qatar Meteorology Department in its weekend forecast.

On Thursday, hazy weather is expected with local cloud formations. The wind will blow Northerly – Northeasterly at 3-13KT, with sea level at 1-3ft rising to 5ft later.

Thunder rain accompanied by a strong wind and low horizontal visibility is expected on both Friday, 18 October and Saturday, 19 October.

On Friday, the weather is expected to be misty at North in the beginning, becoming partly cloudy with a chance of rain that may be thundery at places. The wind blows Northeasterly – Southeasterly at 8-18KT, gusting to 35KT during thunder rain, while sea level is due to rise from 3-5ft all the way to 13ft during the rain.

On Saturday, QMD forecasts weather for the day to be hazy at first, followed by rainy local clouds that may be thundery in places at noon. The wind blows Northeasterly – Southeasterly at 8-18KT, gusting to 45KT during thunder rain, while sea level is due to rise from 2-4ft all the way to 9ft during thunder rain.
