Doha: United Development Company (UDC), a leading Qatari public shareholding company and the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar and Gewan Island, inaugurated its 900-sqm pavilion at Cityscape Qatar 2021, featuring models of the Company’s flagship developments, The Pearl-Qatar and Gewan Island where UDC will showcase attractive properties for sales and leasing as well as a range of attractive in-house financing plans and promotional leasing offers.
Commenting on UDC’s participation in the event, Turki bin Mohammed Al Khater, Chairman of UDC said: “We are excited to be returning to Cityscape after weathering economic uncertainty linked to the pandemic. Speaking to The Peninsula on the sidelines of the event, Al Othman went on to elaborate on the features of the newly launched Crystal Residence. He said: “The Crystal Residence at Gewan Island which we are launching has 70 units/apartments, we already have bookings for almost 40 percent even before we started which is a good sign".
“It is in a very unique location and has good amenities, that each building has its own gym, pool, security and retail surrounding, he said”. Al Othman added: “The Gewan residential has 11,000 sqm of retail spaces which is air conditioned, this huge area will provide convenience to the shoppers which is our focus. Additionally, we also have the villas of Giardino - it is for the first time we are introducing villas for rent at The Pearl Qatar. We have around 80 villas, and we are receiving lease on phases and starting to rent it to the tenants”.
The Pearl Qatar over the years has positioned itself for local and international investors as the government has allowed for permanent residencies tied up to the investments which is helping in that regards, Al Othman said.
He added: “Today we are also announcing the Corinthia Yacht Club that is an international Yacht Club in The Pearl-Qatar and the construction is ongoing which will be completed by the third quarter of next year, to be ready for the FIFA World Cup 2022. It has state-of-the-art design and is going to be unique in its position and services”.
Speaking about the footfall at The Pearl-Qatar, he said The Pearl-Qatar welcomes around 28 million visitors and residents annually as monitored on a monthly basis. The occupancy rate at The Pearl-Qatar has also reached around 35,000 to 40,000, he added.
