Doha Municipality seizes expired food products

DOHA: The Doha Municipality conducted several raids in Industrial area to check for violation of food control law. 

The health monitoring section officials during their investigation detected expired food products from a food distributor at Industrial Area during. They were found violating Law No. 8 of 1990 on regulation of human food control.

Municipality officials conduct regular raids around Qatar to check for violation of laws regarding food and other consumables.

Al Rayyan Municipality

The Al Rayyan Municipality imposed fines worth a total of QR129,300 last month on erring outlets for various types of violations of the law.

The Health Monitoring section at the ministry destroyed 30 whole slaughtered sheep unfit for human consumption.

Fifty-nine samples were sent to the Central Laboratory and the municipality conducted 780 inspection visits last month and recorded 79 violations. 

Meanwhile, the public relations department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment organized an awareness lecture at Maryam Bint Omran School for Girls about the importance of planting trees.
The lecture was organized as part of the activities the Tree Week 2017 which concluded recently.
