Ashghal announced the completion of works on an 800m service road along Jasim Bin Hamad Street.
The relevant infrastructure works on it was part of the Road Improvement Works (RIW) Project in Various Areas of Greater Doha, Phase 6B.
The works involved 1.5km pedestrian paths, new lighting systems, 91 parking bays, surface water and rainwater drainage network (0.6 km) and a new foul sewer network (0.6 km), along with directional signs and road markings.
Eng. Muneera Al-Mohannadi, Project Engineer in Ashghal, highlighted the importance of building a service road for a vital route like Jasim bin Hamad St., as it has high traffic and is connected to main roads like Khalifa St., Omar bin Al-Khattab St., and Al Jazira Al Arabiya St.
She further added that the service road will enhance traffic safety, regulating vehicular flow, and reducing traffic congestion on the main road.
The road also serves the nearby health and commercial facilities, as it provides easier access to these amenities & the residential areas.
