Doha: Qatar Weather has announced that tomorrow, June 20, 2024, marks the first day of summer astronomically, coinciding with the longest daylight period in the Northern Hemisphere.
Qatar Weather shared on its social media: “The Summer solstice marks the beginning of summer in the astronomical calendar in the northern hemisphere during which the sun is highest in the sky and directly overhead in the tropic of cancer. The summer solstice is the day with the most hours of sunlight in the northern hemisphere, whereas it coincides with fewest hours of sunlight in the southern hemisphere. In addition, the sun doesn't set in the northern Arctic Circle on this day. After the summer solstices, days get shorter gradually.”
Today’s weather is predicted to be very hot with scattered clouds and sea heights ranging between 2-4 FT.
In a related context, Qatar Weather has released an instructional video on social media to help the public stay safe and protect themselves from the heat during these hot weather conditions.
