For the second year running, planned activities promote sustainability as ExxonMobil Qatar’s campaign theme for the tournament.
Doha: ExxonMobil Qatar has announced its Public Village stand activities for the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2023.
ExxonMobil has been title sponsor of the tournament since 1995 and its stand has become a highlight for thousands of fan staking part in the popular annual sporting event with its fun and exciting entertainment.
For the second year running, planned activities promote sustainability as ExxonMobil Qatar’s campaign theme for the tournament.
They highlight ExxonMobil’s commitment to society’s net-zero ambition and innovative sustainability solutions, including carbon capture and storage (CCS) and recycling, and nature based solutions, among others.
This year, visitors can take part in a unique and inspiring virtual reality game especially developed for the tournament, that allows them to capture carbon dioxide for storage and help fight climate change. Furthermore, INJAZ Qatar – a long-term partner of ExxonMobil Qatar – will have a designated space at the stand.
The relationship between the two partners began in 2007, and is based on a shared mission to provide young people with opportunities to channel their energy, innovation and creativity into productive projects that will help build a sustainable society for the future.
“We want our stand visitors to have a great time when they come by the Public Village. We encourage them to make the most of the activities we have planned for them that highlight our work and commitment to the environment and sustainability, and also learn about our special partnership with INJAZ Qatar,” said Saleh Al Mana, Vice President and Director of Public and Government Affairs for ExxonMobil Qatar.
The stand’s most popular activity - the racing car simulator – has also made a return this year.
The full-size specification racing car is available to all visitors for an interactive and realistic racing experience and the chance to compete with family and friends.
Even tennis players come by the stand to try it out and beat each other’s scores, andthose visiting may get a chance to meet their favourite tennis stars and get a signed oversized tennis ball if they’re lucky enough to be there at the same time. As in previous years, the ever popular “ExxonMobil Minute” will feature at the 2023 tournament.
After matches, the winning player randomly serve tennis balls into the audience for lucky spectators to catch and claim a valuable prize at ExxonMobil Qatar’s stand in the Public Village.
The Public Village is a dynamic mix of music, entertainment, performances, food, and a traditional Souq. Visitors can enjoy authentic Qatari food and other options, and experience special activities available to all.
Tariq Zainal, Qatar Tennis Federation’s Secretary General said, ““It is a great privilege to welcome everyone once again to the 31st edition of this world-class event, the Qatar ExxonMobil Open. The tournament is not just about tennis but also an opportunity to bring to the public in Qatar the finest of fun and entertainment, especially at the Public Village."
The Qatar ExxonMobil Open will run from today until February 26.
