New York: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) warned that hospitals treating children and newborns in the Gaza Strip are operating under extremely dire conditions and lack essential medical equipment, as the Israeli occupation continues to prevent the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip since March 18.
UNICEF stated that the survival of children in Gaza now depends on a ceasefire and the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid into the strip. The Agency called for the immediate resumption of humanitarian access.
The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip stated in a report on Saturday that more than 18,000 children in the Strip have been killed since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023. 892 infants have not yet reached their first year, and 281 infants who were born and killed during the war.
