Doha: Msheireb Downtown Doha, the ‘world’s first sustainable downtown regeneration project’, will launch its Phase 4 in the first quarter (Q1) of next year, an official has said.
Speaking to The Peninsula on the sidelines of the Cityscape Qatar 2021, Clark Williams, Director of Marketing at Msheireb Properties said: “This year at Cityscape Qatar we are focusing on two major projects. The first is Phase four of our new development in Msheireb Downtown Doha, which is the last section of the city district and is set for launch in first quarter of next year. The entire city was built in one phase except Phase 4 as it was built on top of Msheireb station and underground works for Qatar Rail’s Msheireb Station had to be finished. It is probably our largest high rise”.
During the three-day exhibition, which concluded yesterday at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), Msheireb Properties showcased its new residential and commercial offerings in Msheireb Downtown Doha, one of the smartest and most sustainable city districts in the world.
Williams added: “Secondly, this year we are selling townhouses. We have three types of townhouses - five to six bedrooms, four bedrooms with their own garage, majlis and these are registering people’s interest for sales. The rest of the city is for apartment living, for living downtown and for working downtown, we have our commercial units, and we are still building up our commercial portfolio. Vodafone was the last company to move in two months ago. We have had some great interest from the visitors so far as potential buyers eye downtown Doha, which has been primarily leasing, as an area of interest for investment.”
Msheireb Downtown Doha’s Phase four represents the main transportation hub, as well as an array of shops, cafes, and restaurants. Several corporate entities are also expected to move in the city.
Citing the development in the north of Qatar, Williams also said: “We have a development in the north of the country called ‘Zulal Wellness Resort’, which is the Middle East’s first wellbeing resort. We are taking bookings for it as of November 15 and it is a wellness resort for both families and individuals.
“Msheireb Galleria is continuing into its phase two which has a lot of international brands, Novo Cinema will be coming in the next two months, and we are going to be launching an edutainment practice in 2022. And also, we are going to have a big conference called ‘Design Miami’ in the Doha Design District in March, next year,” he added.
