Doha: Get ready for rainy days this weekend. Qatar Meteorology Department has predicted thundery and strong rains starting from Thursday and is likely to last until Saturday. Strong winds are also expected during this time.
Some parts of the country could get some light rains starting from Tuesday it is expected gain strength from Thursday.
Numerical weather prediction charts continue to indicate that Qatar is expected to be affected by a state of atmospheric instability due to the extension of an upper level low pressure system starting from Tuesday until the end of this month.
The influence of this instability begins in a weak manner on Tuesday and Wednesday with a chance of light rain over some areas during daytime.
However, the influence of the instability is expected to increase starting from Thursday (November 24) until Saturday (November 26) accompanied with easterly to southeasterly fresh to strong winds and rains of variable intensity over most areas becoming thundery and heavy at times.
High waves are also expected offshore ranging between 7-10 ft reaching 13 ft at times over some areas.
Therefore, Qatar Meteorology Department has urged all residents to be cautious and to avoid sea activities during this period as well as to follow latest updates and warnings.
