Doha: The 8th Qatar International Boat Show (QIBS) 2021 made history in Qatar marine industry by launching modern and top-class made-in-Qatar luxury yachts and speed boats. QIBS is being held at The Pearl Qatar. It will conclude today.
On Thursday, Performance Marine launched four speed boats at the QIBS, including 52 feet long and 14 feet wide central cabin built, largest-ever speed boat made in Qatar with a speed of 85 kilometres per hour (kph).
Chairman of Performance Marine, Sheikh Hassan bin Jabor Al Thani, said four speed boats of various sizes were introduced by his company this year, including the largest-ever manufactured in Qatar, which he said he was proud to present to the people of Qatar, especially marine life lovers. He said Performance Marine will be participating in the Qatar International Boat Show in future as well.
There are 36 companies participating in boat show this year, including six Qatari boats manufacturers. The show has been organised by Al Mannai Plus Events since 2013. Among other Qatari boat manufacturing companies are Halul Boats; Doha Craft Marine; OCRA Boat; Balhambar Boats; Al Kuwari Boats; and Lusail Boat Factory.
Chairman Halul Boats, Ahmed Mohamed Hamad Al Hitmi, said his company’s 10 new modern boats, all made-in-Qatar, are participating in the boat show.
He said his company has been manufacturing boats in Qatar since 2004. Al Hitmi said today there are a number of boat manufacturing companies in Qatar, and the country is exporting yachts and boats. That shows that the local and regional markets are good and future is positive for marine industry in Qatar, he added.
Doha Craft, established in 2018 in Qatar Free Zone, launched two new world-class quality boats, 44 ft and 38.8 ft, this year at the exhibition.
