Al Rayyan muscle past El Jaish in QBL play-offs

DOHA: Davon James Dominic’s spectacular performance yesterday saw Al Rayyan edge past El Jaish in their Qatar Basketball League (QBL) play-offs. 
Dominic scored 26 points and managed 4 assists to help Al Rayyan - coached by Koufos Stergios- win 78-70 in the tense clash at Al Gharafa Indoor Hall. 
In another game yesterday, Al Sadd edged past Al Gharafa, winning the feisty clash 67-64.
Ngombo Tanguy Alban also chipped in with a valuable contribution, managing a tally of 16 points. 
Hill Lawrence was just as useful as he scored 15 points and managed 3 assists in the closely-fought game. 
Veteran Musa Yasseen Ismail was his usual self, scoring 12 points and managing 3 assists. 
Abdulla Malek Salem scored 9 points to go along with 3 assists as Al Rayyan won the key moments in the game. 
For El Jaish, Elhadary Mansour Atif was clearly the best player as he scored 21 points in what turned out to be a lost cause. Atif also managed 4 assists.
Atif was well supported by Ali Ali Turki who scored 18 points.
Macklin Vernon Leon was the other El Jaish player to reach the double figures. Leon scored 14 points and managed 7 assists. 
Ngom Babcar Marone (8) and Mohmmed Mohd Yousuf (7) were the other main scorers for El Jaish. 
It was Al Rayyan’s second successive win following their 69-67 win over the same opponents.
In the second game, Al Sadd picked up their second successive win over Al Gharafa, having won the first encounter 73-66 four days ago.
Yesterday, Al Sadd - coached by Zoran Kreckovic - relied on a team effort to squeeze past Al Gharafa in the low-scoring game. 
Raffa Anthony scored 17 points and managed 5 assist to help Al Sadd get going in the tough encounter. 
Abdi Khalid Suliman chipped in with 15 points and 5 assists to support Anthony’s big effort. 
Kone Mohamed Deba got busy from the first quarter and scored 13 points in his team’s second win on the trot. 
Saeed Erfan Ali was the fourth Al Sadd player to reach double figures, scoring 12 points and managing 6 assists. 
For Al Gharafa, Galloway Kevin Dwayne produced a high tally of 28 points and managed 4 assists. 
Adako Emmanuel Osaro chipped in with 13 points.  Ndoye Hassino (9) and Salem Omar Abdelkader (7) were the other main scorers for Al Gharafa who are coached by Koussay Hatem.The Peninsula
