Doha: Jaidah Automotive, dealer of Chevrolet in Qatar, hosted an afternoon of festivities in support of Discover America — US Week Qatar.
The inaugural celebration of American culture, commerce and friendship in Qatar was introduced last year on January 21.
The American Chamber of Commerce Qatar (AmCham), in partnership with the US embassy, launched the initiative and since then the week of festivities has become an annual event. This year, the week is from February 15 to 22.
Jaidah Automotive hosted an event ‘Discover America with Chevrolet; at Qatar Racing Club, attended by US Ambassador Dana Shell Smith; Khalid Samir, Director of Operations, Jaidah Automotive; and senior management from Jaidah Automotive and the club.
Samir said “Today gives us the opportunity to come together with some of our most esteemed partners to support the unwavering commitment to enrich culture in a dynamic community. As the sole distributors of Chevrolet in the country, we are proud to represent a brand that reflects innovation and success in America. We would like to thank Mr Fahad and Dana Shell Smith for joining us in celebrating this occasion.”
Guests and their families enjoyed activities throughout the day, including live music, dance performances, test drives on Chevrolet car lines and drift experiences. The venue showcased the American spirit, with the US flag draped as decoration and guests were presented with American cuisine.
