Kahramaa invites entries for Tarsheed ‘App Champs’ contest

Doha: The National Programme for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) of Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has started receiving entries for the ‘App Champs Competition’ from Qatar-based university and college students on the focused theme of ‘Conserving Electricity and Water through Tarsheed’. 
The competition ‘App Champs: An Epic battle. Bring it on!’ is open to all students of Qatar-based universities and colleges. 
The contest with prizes for three best smart conservation and energy efficiency applications or games is as part of Tarsheed’s efforts to promote the culture of conservation of electricity and water and encourage innovations and high-tech electronic development by students.
Interested students may apply via Kahramaa website www.km.com.qa/tarsheed where they can view terms and conditions for participating in the contest and fill up the form. Entries are open until April 10. For details, participants may call 44846878.
The contest aims to promote environmental awareness and inculcate a culture of efficient usage of natural resources to have a better life and achieve Tarsheed theme ‘Keep Qatar Pulsing’ in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Technical guidelines for entries are the application’s suitability to be uploaded on designated application stores such as iOS or Google Play, its high quality, user-friendliness and distribution suitability reflecting Tarsheed’s conservation message in a very interesting way. 
Submissions should be original works of participants and should not have copyright or patent registered for submitted creations. 
Entries must be with the source code/file for evaluation and must be as per guidelines posted on the website. All invited entries should comply with Qatar’s moral values and national identity. Winners will be announced and honoured at Tarsheed fourth annual celebration on April 21.
