Doha: Fans of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 have described Qatar as a fantastic place.
Sharing their experiences with The Peninsula at FIFA Fan Festival at Al Bidda Park, the fans said that people in Qatar are very friendly.
They said that international singers and artists made amazing performances at the Festival enabling fans from different nationalities and background to enjoy the moment. Fans also lauded arrangements made by local authorities to ensure the security and safety of people.
Marcello Vasalli, a fan from Sao Palo, Brazil, said: “I love FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Doha and its people are very nice. I am happy to stay here.”
He said that Qatari community is very nice and people in Qatar are very friendly. “I enjoyed the programmes held at the festival. A number of international artists made amazing performances,” said Vasalli.
Omar Flores Aranda, a fan from Mexico, said that FIFA Fan Festival at Al Bidda Park was very good, safe and colourful. The festival is hosting singers and artists from all over the world enabling fans of different cultural and linguistic background to enjoy.
He said that the organisers made fantastic arrangements for fans.
“Some rules are in place for the security and safety of people which should be followed by fans.”
Aranda who came from Mexico with a group of friends to enjoy the World Cup will stay for two weeks in Qatar. Amar Merhi, a fan from the US said: “I am very happy to be here in Qatar. All preparations and arrangements related to the World Cup including stadiums and events are very nice.”
He said that Qatar has changed the perspective of those thinking negatively by hosting such an amazing event.
“Really FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be best World Cup ever. The activities at fan zone are amazing as it is hosting world famous singers and artists,” said Merhi.
Khaowla Khelef, a fan from Tunisia, said the festival is offering colourful programmes for the enjoyment of fans. Speaking about security arrangements, she said that adequate measures are in place to ensure safety and security people specially families and children.
“Now after witnessing such huge preparations, we can say Qatar’s World Cup will be best for sure,” said Khelef.
Faras Sliti, another fan from Tunisia, said that the festival is offering amazing programmes by hosting singers from different nationalities. “Qatar made excellent preparations and arrangements for hosting the mega sporting event from all aspects. So far, I did not see any thing missing to make this World Cup a historical one,” said Sliti.
