The weather is getting colder and it’s the best time for a drive-in cinema in Lusail.

The Doha Film Institute, in partnership with Qatar Tourism is preparing a snowy weekend for its drive-in cinema where three festive family movies will be shown dubbed “The Festive Series.”

On December 23, it will screen “Home Alone” and on December 24, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Both films were directed by Chris Columbus and starred by Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, and Daniel Stern. Home Alone is a series of American Christmas family comedy films which comes in six parts. The film is a story about the adventures of children who find themselves alone during the holiday season and are faced to protect their family’s house from burglars.

And on December 25, “The Santa Clause” directed by John Pasquin. The story tells about divorced dad Scott has custody of his son on Christmas Eve. After he accidentally kills a man in a Santa suit, they are magically transported to the North Pole, where an elf explains that Scott must take Santa’s place before the next Christmas arrives.

Screenings will start at 7pm, and ticket price is at QR100 which can be purchased via DFI website www.dohafilminstitute.com.

This is the fourth leg of the said drive-in cinema. It started with Disney Anniversaries Series from December 2 to 4; BIG & small Series, December 9 to 11; and Qatar National Day, December 16 where it featured nine short films from Made in Qatar Programme.
