Qatar’s embassies, consulates mark Qatar National Day

Doha: The diplomatic, consular, and representative missions of the State of Qatar abroad celebrated the national day that coincides with December 18 each year, in commemoration of the memory of the founder of the State of Qatar Sheikh Jassim Bin Mohammed Bin Thani.

Their Excellencies and Heads of the diplomatic, consular, and representative missions of the State of Qatar abroad availed themselves of this opportunity to extend assurances of their highest considerations to Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Father Amir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and all the people of the State of Qatar on this auspicious occasion wishing the State of Qatar further progress and prosperity.

In Istanbul, the Consulate General of the State of Qatar in Istanbul, Republic of Turkiye, held a celebration on the occasion of the State’s National Day.

The ceremony was attended by Governor of Istanbul H E Ali Yerlikaya, a number of civil and military officials, in addition to heads and representatives of diplomatic missions in Istanbul.

In Amman, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, organized a celebration on the occasion of the national day of the State of Qatar.

The ceremony was attended by H H Prince Mired Raad, H H Prince Rakan Raad, H H Prince Asem bin Nayef, Senate President H E Faisal Fayez, Speaker of Jordan’s House of Representatives H E Ahmed Safadi, along with a host of Their Excellencies the ministers, the current and former officials and members of the Senate and representatives in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, including heads and representatives of the diplomatic missions and media professionals.

During the celebration, the speech of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani delivered in the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was screened.

The ceremony also included many poems, artistic links and video clips that reflect the renaissance of the State of Qatar and the accomplishments it has achieved in all fields.

In his remarks delivered during the celebration, Senate President Faisal Fayez extended the congratulation to the State of Qatar, leadership, government and people, on this occasion wishing the State of Qatar permanent security and stability and further progress and prosperity.

His Excellency said that the great and distinct achievement and success for the State of Qatar by organizing the world cup tournament were achieved by the efforts of the people of Qatar and their wise leadership, adding that the people in Jordan boast of their relations with the sisterly Qatar, indicating that they are historic and deep-rooted ties, and HM King Abdullah II and his brother Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani are committed to developing them.

For his part, Qatar’s Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani underscored the depth and the solid and distinct bilateral relations that link the two sisterly countries in multiple fields.

He said that since the diplomatic bonds were established in 1972, the relations witnessed remarkable progress and growth in all fields, thanks to the wise visions of the two leaderships, until they became a model for the Arab relations that serve the issues of security and stability in the region.

He added that the celebration of the national day of the State of Qatar demonstrates the meanings of pride in the homeland and loyalty to the ancestors and their eternal sacrifices, and pride in the wise leadership.

He pointed out that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 demonstrated the civilized identity of the State of Qatar, along with its economic, security and administrative capability, and its candid achievements in all fields, gathered all nations, united the feelings and confirmed that it is possible for the world to unite in the face of the major challenges that threaten the entire humanity. In Moscow, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation organized a celebration on the occasion of the State’s National Day, in the presence of Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Russia H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Al Thani.

The ceremony was also attended by a number of senior officials, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Russian Federation, and community figures.

In Dakar, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Senegal H E Mohammed bin Kurdi Talib Al Marri, held a ceremony on the occasion of the State’s National Day. 

The ceremony was attended by Minister of Livestock and Animal Productions, H E Aly Saleh Diop, representing the government, a number of lawmakers and advisors, businessmen, heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions, representatives of international organizations accredited to Senegal, and community figures.

In Tbilisi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Georgia H E Hassan bin Ahmed Al Mutawa organized a ceremony on the occasion of the State’s National Day. In Khartoum, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Sudan held a ceremony on the occasion of the country’s National Day.

The ceremony was attended by H E representative of the Sudanese government and Minister of Social Development, Ahmed Adam Bakhit, with the participation of prominent official and political figures, heads and members of diplomatic missions, dignitaries of the society and fields of culture and media as well as Islamic and Christian clergies.

In a speech at the ceremony, the government representative congratulated the state of Qatar on the National Day, which coincides this year with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, hailing the distinguished organization of the State of Qatar for this major global sporting event. 

For his part, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Sudan H E Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sada highlighted, in a speech at the ceremony, the great achievements made in the State of Qatar in the political, economic, sports, health, educational and other fields within the framework of the modernization system led by the wise leadership.

Qatar’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 demonstrated its civilised identity and capabilities in all fields, he said, hailing the Qatari-Sudanese relations as solid and historic.

The Ambassador highlighted Qatar’s firm position in support of the unity, sovereignty and stability of Sudan and its keenness to support bilateral relations between the two countries.
