Doha, Qatar: Patients at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) have a range of convenient options enabling them to cancel, reschedule and manage their specialist appointments conveniently.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, patients are urged to reschedule or cancel it as soon as possible. This can be done in two easy to access ways:
• By contacting Nesma’ak Patient Contact Center on 16060 which is available 24/7. It is recommended you contact 16060 at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment if you need to change or cancel it.
• You can also rearrange or cancel your appointment when the Patient Contact Center calls you to remind you of your appointment several days before.
Nasser Al Naimi, Chief of Patient Experience and Director, Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute.
"We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, so we urge all our patients to utilize the range of options available to them to reschedule or cancel their appointments and to communicate with us if they are unable to attend,” said Nasser Al Naimi, Chief of Patient Experience and Director, Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute.
“By contacting us ahead of time, we can work to ensure your appointment is rescheduled at an appropriate time for you, according to your condition and circumstances. We can also give your cancelled/rescheduled appointment to another patient.
“The Nesma’ak Patient Contact Center is available 24/7, in multiple languages, for the convenience of our patients.”
Al Naimi said that just as importantly, missed appointments create longer wait times for other patients seeking care.
“We are encouraging all patients to plan ahead, and stay ahead, because your appointment matters. HMC is committed to providing high-quality healthcare to all patients. By working together, we can ensure that everyone receives the timely care they need,” Al Naimi said.
Dr. Khaled Al Jalham, Chief Medical Officer at Hamad Medical Corporation
Dr. Khaled Al Jalham, Chief Medical Officer at Hamad Medical Corporation said that missing an appointment may lead to cancellation and patients having to obtain a new referral.
“Each missed appointment is a broken thread in the continuity of patient care. It's not just a lost time slot; it's potentially a lost opportunity to intervene, adjust treatment, or prevent a complication,” Dr. Al Jalham said.
“Missing appointments can lead to delays in diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care, potentially leading to worsening health conditions That's why attending your appointments is critical.”
