Tokyo: Japan, South Korea, and China agreed today on the need to strengthen trilateral cooperation across various fields.
This came during a trilateral meeting held in the capital, Tokyo, between Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, and South Korean counterpart Cho Tae-yul.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the Japanese Foreign Minister said that the three sides had a frank exchange of views on trilateral cooperation as well as international and regional issues from a broad perspective, and emphasized the importance of enhancing future collaboration.
This marks the first meeting between the foreign ministers of the three countries since 2023 and is expected to pave the way for a trilateral summit between the leaders of Japan, South Korea, and China, following last years summit in Seoul.
