Filipino Nurses Association Qatar elects new office bearers

Doha: A large number of members of Filipino Nurses Association, Qatar Chapter (FNAQ), gathered in Bayt Al Diyafa (Club House) of Hamad Medical Corporation to hold their annual elections recently. 
Serving in various hospitals and medical centres in Qatar elected their new leadership for 2016. 
The new team comprises Norwil Baguio, Mark Santos, Zuber Cabulao, Sitti Lana, Gilbert Aquino, Mona Mortola and Ernest Kumar.
Outgoing president and Founder of the association Frank Jamandre gave a brief on achievements in the development of FNAQ during his tenure. 
He reminded FNAQ members of challenges in their professional career.
Fiona Milligan, Senior Educator, Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research Department, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) called on the participating Filipino nurses to focus on their professional development since there are many new diseases appearing in society. 
Milligan was the keynote speaker on the occasion. 
On challenges of translating knowledge into clinical practice, she gave a detailed presentation through slides on medical areas and said: “We are facing new sicknesses every time, it has increased professional responsibility in the nursing career.
“We should be ready to face these challenges.”
The programme was conducted by Fe Martinez, past president and co-founder of FNAQ. The Filipino Nurses Association was set up in 1922 in the Philippines.
