SUQ celebrates 15th anniversary

Doha: Under the patronage of Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani and Ann Mannen, Interim Executive Dean, Stenden University Qatar (SUQ) celebrated its 15th anniversary in Qatar. 
The event was held at Al Samriya Farm, attended by students, alumni, staff, faculty and guests. 
Sheikh Faisal welcomed guests and expressed happiness that SUQ contributes to Qatar’s development by offering high-quality programmes to qualify students for the working life and prepare them to build their future as leaders. 
In a panel discussion, Sheikh Faisal provided insights into his work and professional life and stressed how important it is to manage one’s time to be able to excel in what one want’s to accomplish. 
Asked how he manages his business and organisations, he said, “There should be time for serious work, fun and family. Companies need hard working people you can trust. 
“This is how companies and industries grow. The right person in the right place will enhance the job and the whole organisation.” Reem Al Suwaidi, General Manager, Bedaya Center, and SUQ alumna, said: “I would like to thank Sheikh Faisal for his continuous support to SUQ students and staff. He is the spiritual father for everyone at the university.”
Mannen said: “We want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation for the tremendous partnership we have had together with Al Faisal Holding these past 15 years. 
“We want to congratulate and applaud Sheikh Faisal for his vision and commitment to education and in particular in Qatar. Today, we not only celebrate a partnership but more so the contribution that together we have been able to make to develop young minds and stimulate educational development.” 
She highlighted current SUQ ambassadors’s their exemplary work in the industry and said it makes the name of Stenden stronger each time they achieve and develop themselves.
She presented Sheikh Faisal  with a honorary copy of a book written by Fokko Bosker on SUQ to mark the anniversary. 
Certificates and prizes were presented to students and staff members in recognition of their successes and achievements during 2015.
Ali Abdallah; Dr Ian Mckay; Krishna Paul; and Hassan Abdellatif were among the staff honoured along with students Giselle D Costa; Chahinez Torqui; Vignesh Venkataraman; Kaye P Fausto; Dima Zantout; Deema Mohammed Ali; Sara K Loulou; Noora Ghalib Fahad; and Dana Nagi Ali.
