Unstable weather, rains predicted for weekend

DOHA: Weather charts indicate that the country will be affected by unstable weather due to the passage of a low pressure system in the upper levels of the atmosphere during the period between Thursday evening (24-12-2015) until Sunday (27-12-2015).
Easterly to southeasterly winds are expected to blow on Thursday leading to an increase in humidity as skies will become partly cloudy to cloudy gradually with a chance for isolated light to moderate rains.
Rains are expected to reach its peak starting from early Friday until Saturday morning with a forecast for moderate to heavy rains over most areas of the country with a chance for thundershowers.
On Saturday evening, cloudy skies are expected to continue with a chance for isolated light to moderate rains, whereas the weather will become gradually stable On Sunday with a chance for isolated light rain.
Northwesterly moderate to fresh winds becoming strong at times are expected to affect the country again starting from Friday evening until Sunday morning leading to high waves and a noticeable drop in temperatures.
Maximum temperatures in Doha are expected to range between 19-22 degrees and minimum temperatures between 14-17 degrees with cooler temperatures expected in open areas.
Due to the weather fluctuations expected during this period, Qatar Meteorology Department urges all to be cautious and to avoid sea activities as well as to follow latest official weather updates and warnings through different social media channels.
