Doha: Eight people were caught by CID for pick-pocketing.
The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested eight Africans for stealing personal valuables through pickpocketing especially in crowded areas.
As the department received complaints about repeated thefts by pickpocketing, a special security team was formed to nab the culprits.
Through intensified search and investigation, a number of suspects were arrested and valuable items were seized from them.
The suspects were referred to the concerned authorities to complete the legal procedures and take further action.
The Ministry of Interior urged the public to take care of their belongings especially in crowded places such as public markets and bus stations and to cooperate with security agencies if these kind of events happen or you witness something like this.
