Doha, Qatar: Injaaz Stud’s Mutamarrid with Pierre Charles Boudot in the saddle clinched the Ras Al Noof Cup after a brilliant performance in the feature at Al Rayyan Racecourse yesterday.

The eight-year-old horse, trained by Jihad El Ahmad, remained in the leading pack of the Local Thoroughbred Open Race (Class 2), before surging in the home straight to seal a five-and-a-half length victory in the 1200m race. 

Tomas Lukasek rode Maysara to second place while Neshan under Maxim Bozzio finished third in the race that concluded the seven-race meeting just before the midnight.   

Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Manager Abdulla Rashid Al Kubaisi crowned the winners of the feature.

Earlier, jockey Salman Fahad Al Hajri completed a quick-fire double when he piloted Jassim Ghazali-trained Sha’alan to a commanding three-length victory in the Purebred Arabian Handicap 75-95 (Class 3).

Earlier, Al Hajri guided Mukabr to an impressive win in the Local Purebred Arabian Handicap 60-80 (Class 4). 

Ahmed Kobeissi-trained Elaaf also delivered a dominant performance under Ivan Rossi to secure the Local Thoroughbred Handicap 30-55 (Class 5) title after a three-and-a-half-length victory over Moharb.        

In the Purebred Arabian Maiden Plate (Class 6), Thouab Al Shahania was a class apart recording a huge five-and-a-half length triumph. Jockey Saleh Faraj Al Otaibi steered the five-year-old gelding to the remarkable win.  

The first race of the night saw Zuhair Mohsen-trained Holwah under the guidance of Soufiane Saadi producing the lightning pace for a six-and-a-half length victory in the 1200m Local Thoroughbred Maiden Plate (Class 6).

Wathbah, trained by Hadi Al Ramzani, claimed a narrow half-length win in the following Thoroughbred Maiden Plate (Class 6) with Faleh Bughanaim in the saddle.
