As the Eid Al Fitr celebration unfolds in Qatar, exuberant parents along with their kids embarked on Al Bidda to revel in the ongoing mega park carnival.
The events include roaming music shows, kids’ activities, live performances, a Qatari Ardah show, and dining and shopping booths among others as families and friends get together to enjoy their Eid holidays memorably.
The Peninsula explored the site yesterday talking to several families and individuals.
“We are here to experience all these pleasant activities and music,” said Lynette from the Philippines who came to the carnival with her friend.
“Although it’s been 3 years I am living in Doha, this is my first time coming to an event like this and it feels refreshing after a long tiring week,” she said.
The mega park carnival is witnessing a packed crowd enjoying some of the enthralling services including the train ride, gaming area, giant balloons, Mega Park theatre, and other fun-filled activities for the whole family.
Megan, an expat living in Qatar for nearly 15 years, said: “I had been thrilled to come here with my husband and kids during the Eid holidays. Usually, we are away on vacation whenever it’s the holiday season, but this year chose to be in the country but ensure the folks enjoy it still.”
According to its website and social media channels, the carnival targets over 100,000 visitors including tourists, residents, and citizens of Qatar. The 22,000sqm area park has been a regular attraction for many individuals and families residing in the country.
“Heard of it in the social media pages and we thought to come here with the boys”, said a mother of two children adding that the carnival has been some of the most enjoyable events during the time of Eid celebration.
An organiser of the carnival park told The Peninsula that “the event looks graceful with so many families here and we are blessed to have seen more than 10,000 visitors day by day.”
“I’m sure the numbers will rise in the coming days as we guarantee a great time of fun and enjoyment for the community here,” he added.
The 15-day event sponsored by several firms has ensured the diversity of activities in the carnival park that includes singing, dancing and exhibitions. “We took the day off to visit Al Bidda and listen to some good music,” Sam, an expatriate who works in a cafe said adding that the main intention was to “chill with friends” at the mega park carnival.
The carnival, which kicked off on the 16th of this month, starts from 10am and goes on till 2am and will continue until the 30th aiming to attract more visitors across the country.
