Doha: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in cooperation with Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros Co WLL (AAB), has announced the recall of 2007-2010 models of Toyota Camry to update the smart stop technology designed to help bring a vehicle to a stop gradually in case of unintended acceleration.
The ministry said the recall is within the framework of its coordination and follow-up to ascertain car dealers’ commitment to follow up defects and repair them to protect consumers’ rights.
The ministry stressed that it will coordinate with the dealer to follow up maintenance and repairs and communicate with customers to ensure implementation of procedures to fix defects.
It urged consumers to report any abuses or irregularities to the Department of Consumer Protection and Commercial Fraud Combat which receives complaints, suggestions and inquiries through its communication channels.
