Epson has recently launched the Workforce DS-30 portable A4 scanner. The DS-30 sets new benchmarks with its impressive document management capabilities that are perfect for SoHo’s and large enterprise mobile workers, who can now easily and quickly digitise essential documents while out in the field, inside the office or just about anywhere. Featuring an attractive, stylish and compact design, Epson’s DS-30 weighs only 325g making it one of the lightest business scanners in the world.
The EpsonScan software is ideal for a variety of functionalities including searchable PDF, RGB colour dropout, auto de-skew, auto page size detection, secure PDF, text enhancement, auto area, segmentation and punch hole removal. There is also the Abbyy Fine Reader software that allows Optical Character Recognition, while Presto! BizCard 5 can manage business cards.
Powered by USB 2.0, the DS-30 is also compatible with Epson’s Document Capture Pro software, which can be downloaded for free from Epson’s website.
In combination with Document Capture Pro, the Workforce DS-30 also offers a wide selection of “scan-to” functions, including scan-to-cloud, scan-to-e-mail and scan-to-SharePoint. It also comes with features such as a barcode recognition and zonal OCR- A / B support.
