DOHA: The health tent set up by the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) at Darb El-Saai was a big hit, with some 159,756 visitors over 13 days, SCH has said.
Hamad Jassim Al Hamar, Director, Public Relations, SCH, said the tent attracted citizens and residents and offered a wide variety of events.
Ilham Al Nuaimi, Head, Protocol and Events, SCH, said activities included free medical check-ups, vaccination against seasonal influenza, and health education and awareness programmes for children and adults.
The SCH also organised a five-day national training course in emergency management in public health. Forty people from health sectors, ministries and other institutions took part.
The course discussed public health in Qatar, role of health sectors in responding to emergency and crises and local and international experiences. International experts made presentations on emergency management in public health.
Dr Mohammed Al Hajari, Director, Emergency Response, SCH, said the annual course reviews developments related to emergency response during crises.
