DOHA: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) celebrated National Day at its hospitals and departments with staff, patients and their families.
Dr Hanan Al Kuwari, Managing Director, HMC, joined staff, patients and visitors in celebrating the occasion at Al Wakrah Hospital (AWH), the Bone and Joint Center, the Transport Department and the Human Resources Department.
“The National Day is an opportunity to renew our loyalty, determination and efforts to promote the country and support the development process and overall renaissance, especially in light of achievements that have contributed to strengthening Qatar’s position on the regional and the international stage. It is also an opportunity to express our love for this country,” said Dr Al Kuwari.
The Transport Department set up a heritage tent to receive guests. Horses and riders and schoolchildren in national dress provided entertainment. National Day videos were shown and songs and folkdances performed.
At the Bone and Joint Centre, a traditional tent was set up to welcome guests and visitors, serving popular food and Arabic coffee. The entrances were decorated with flags and patriotic songs and Al Ardha dance were presented.
A tent was also set up at Al Wakrah Hospital ground to receive Dr Al Kuwari and other guests from the area. Fun games were provided for children and gifts and traditional foods distributed to attendees. Drawing competitions for children and popular games were held. Events included presentation of videos and patriotic songs and a marching band from the Emiri Guard played patriotic music.
Events were also held at the main entrances of outpatient clinics at Hamad General Hospital which displayed decorated flags and maroon and white striped balloons. Activities included Al Ardha dances and serving Arabic coffee. School students in traditional dress performed patriotic songs. Puppet shows, workshops for children and henna drawing were also held.
At the Women’s Hospital, a traditional tent was set up at the main entrance to welcome guests and participants with Arabic coffee. The entrances were also decorated with the national flag. The hospital presented special gifts of car seats to the first 33 children born that day.
Celebrations were held at the Rumailah Hospital, the Heart Hospital, the National Center for Cancer Care and Research, the Enaya Continuing Care Center – Muaither 2 and HMC Medical Education Center.
Celebrations at Al Khor Hospital and Cuban Hospital included an Arabic tent which welcomed visitors and participants. At Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City, celebrations were held in the central garden with the participation of staff and long-term care patients.
