The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) conducted their annual dance festival “Natyanjali” for the classical dance forms at Birla Public School auditorium on January 19 in association with Sky Media.

The Chief Guest, P Kumaran, Ambassador of India to Qatar and Chief Patron of ICC, inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. In his message, he lauded the efforts of ICC in up keeping and disseminating the social and cultural values among the Indian community in Qatar. He also applauded the efforts of students and parents for finding time out to learn the art forms of India irrespective of their busy life.

ICC President Milan Arun gave the welcome address and General Secretary of ICC Juttas Paul conducted the proceedings. Anjan Ganguly, Head of In House Activities, proposed vote of thanks, while Unnikrishnan P gave the introduction of the programme and Aarathi Prajeeth anchored the programme.

For the first time, ICC is brought Paccavadyam artists from India to perform in this programme with live Orchestra. These artists include Musician and Guru Rajeev Kumar, Manoj Ananthapuri, Sangeeth Mohan, Thrissur Krishna kumar, Sajeev Kumar and Kalamandalam Sheena Sunil. 

ICC President specially welcomed the newly-appointed ICC Coordinating Officer and Counsellor at Embassy of India Rajesh Kamble. The festival was also attended by dignitaries K S Dhiman, Second Secretary at Embassy of India, ICBF President Davis Edukulathur, IBPN President K M Varghese, BPS Founder Chairman Dr Mohan Thomas and ICC Past President Hassan Chougle. Dignitaries were received by ICC Vice-President A P Manikantan, Joint Secretary Shriraja Viajyan, Head of Premises and HR Niyaz Ahmed and Head of Sports Jaffarkhan.

A total of 64 students of the Indian Cultural Centre performed 18 dance forms, which enthralled the audience. The programme was attended by more than 500 people. The dances were choreographed by the ICC Classical Dance teacher Metilda Soloman. The Certificates were given away to all the students by Milan Arun and Managing Committee members.

The programme was coordinated by Head of Inhouse activities Anjan Ganguly and Managing Committee Members K S Prasad, Dr Nayna Wagh along with parent’s representatives Omanakuttan Nair, Shaju Kumar, Asha Sajith, Senthil Kumar and Vasudhevan Nair.
