Doha: The most common traffic violations during Ramadan were violations by trucks during peak times and not fastening the seat belt, especially during the period before Iftar.

Director of the Traffic Awareness Department of the General Directorate of Traffic, Colonel Muhammad Radi Al Hajri said: "The most common traffic violations reported during Ramadan were truck violations during peak times. Some of them didn’t follow the restricted times scheduled by Traffic Department.”

In an interaction with media yesterday, during his visit to Ehsan Centre, he said that other violations found during Ramadan are the failure to adhere to the right side of the road and not fastening the seat belt, especially before Iftar time.

Al Hajri stressed that the most important thing the Department is focusing on during the days of Eid Al Fiter is the safety of pedestrians, so there will be more traffic patrols during the Eid in malls and public parks.

The Traffic Department last night conducted a visit to Ehsan Center to meet elderly people and enhance communication with them. It also distributed some gifts to them.
