Doha: Qatari driver Abdulaziz Abdulla was on Saturday night crowned as the winner of the Qatar National Road Racing Championship (QNRRCH).
In the seventh and last round of the Championship organised by Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) that took place at Losail International Circuit, the Porsche driver won the race and consequently got the title in the Open class with 56 points. Abdulla performed consitently throughout the season. The Qatari driver has been six times in the podium, winning four races and finished twice in the second position.
Abdulla, who got the pole position on Friday, dominated throughout the race from the begining and crossed the finished line with a gap of 5.542 with Australian driver Talal Wehbe behind him.Wehbe, with a Lotus Exige, finished second in the Championship with a total of 47 points. The third place in the podium was for Pavel Nedobity from Czech Republic also driving a Lotus Exige and with Saturday’s result, he finished third in the final standings with 30 points.
In the Production class, Rhodelin Senga won the race. For the Filipino driver, this was his first time that he finished in the top place in the Championship. The second place went to Peter De Vido from Canada and Nasser Sheghail Al Abdulla came third.
In the Championship, the Qatari driver Nasser Sheghail Al Abdulla emerged the winner in the Production class with 34 points.
