Doha, Qatar: Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), an apex body under the aegis of Embassy of India, organised a highly successful carrom tournament for workers at ICBF Kanjani Hall.
The event, held on Friday, saw enthusiastic participation with a total of 32 doubles teams competing. After fierce competition of almost eight hours, the team consisted of Ahmed Mulla and Saud Ansari became winners and Afsal Yoosuf and Abdul Salam U P ended as runner up. Raashid Khan and Kashif Sheik won third place and Kathiravan Mariyappan and Mohamed Yusuf won fourth place.
The prize distribution ceremony later in the evening was emceed by ICBF General Secretary Varkey Boban, who added a touch of professionalism and enthusiasm to the proceedings. The welcome speech was delivered by the tournament coordinator and ICBF Head of Youth Welfare, Sameer Ahmed, setting a positive tone for the proceedings.
ICBF President Shanavas Bava addressed the gathering, emphasising the organisation’s commitment to including working-class brothers in all events. He highlighted that the carrom tournament is a platform where their skills can be showcased, reflecting ICBF’s dedication to fostering community spirit and providing opportunities for skill development among workers. Sathik Batcha Samsudeen of Mannai Home, who spoke on the occasion expressed his happiness in associating with the tournament.
