Qatar will get its first indoor trampoline park-the largest in the Middle East-when Bounce Doha opens its doors at Tawar Mall in mid-September.
Spread on a 4,000sqm area, Bounce Doha is the biggest branch of Australian-based Bounce Inc. in the Middle East and its second biggest in the world, next to the one in Bangkok, Thailand.
“The Middle East was the second region where Bounce was set up after Australia. We have Dubai, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi, but Qatar is the biggest in the Middle East. Compared to Dubai, this is 2.5 times bigger. This is Bounce’s second biggest in the world, next to Bangkok, Thailand,” Nicholas Castanheira, Marketing Manager at Bounce, told The Peninsula during an exclusive sneak peek yesterday.
Providing a preview of what adrenaline junkies in Qatar can expect, Castanheira said they have not only brought the best Bounce activities and features that people around the world have come to love but some new ones.
“We wanted to do something unique for Doha because it’s the biggest one in the region and we know people are excited that we are arriving that’s why we have three different models that have not been in any Bounce venue before. These are cage football, cliff diving and the free run area,” he said.
Cage football provides football enthusiasts the chance to play football while jumping and bouncing, taking the sport into new heights making it more spectacular, while cliff diving is for the adventurous who want to try something different.
“One of the most exciting features of Bounce Doha is the X-Park, which is our version of Ninja Warrior. It is an adventure challenge course that contains 18 different stages that one has to complete in the fastest way possible,” explained Castanheira.
X-park is a trendy sport, which is incredibly challenging, dynamic and interactive and includes wedge runs, rollers, slackline, zipline, monkey bars, sea of pipes, spider wall and trampolines among others.
Another exciting part of the “urban playground” is the wall running, in which one jumps on the trampoline and runs on the wall. Bounce offers Flight Academy programme- an eight-week comprehensive programme that teaches kids wall running and the basics of trampolining among others.
There is also the Dodgeball Arena, where Bounce’s oldest and more competitive sport is played by 16 players and witnesses queues of people in various venues, he explained.
The trampolines are not all the same. They have been designed based on the skill level of people. The strongest trampoline can make people jump as high as nine metres.
Kids and adults are all welcome to Bounce Doha as long as they meet the minimum height requirement which is 110cm. Minimum height requirement for X-Park and Performance Area is 125cm.
The venue is 100 percent safe because safety and security is one of Bounce’s main priorities, said Castenheira.
“Safety is one of our main concerns. We work with Australian Trampoline Park Association (ATPA) which basically creates the guidelines to ensure that everything is safe, from the trampolines that we design to the trainings we provide,” he added.
