Doha: Misfer Qatar National Rally, organised by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) starts today with as many as 14 drivers vying in the six-stage rally stretching 121km in addition to approximately 170 conjunction stages.
Marwan Musabah , Misfer Qatar National Rally organiser confirmed that all preparations instructed by QMMF President Nasser bin Khalifa Al Attiyah have been completed.
He said big names would be competing in the event.
“We have the Qatari champion, Nasser bin Saleh Al Attiyah who is at the top of the general ranking, then Salah Bin Eidan from Kuwait, Abdullah Al Kuwari from Qatar, Mohamad Al Khargan, Aumel Khunaiser from Lebanon and Ahmad Al Kasha from KSA,” said Musabah before adding that young drivers would also take part in the event.
“QMMF is always keen on caring for the young skill and talents in all sports. We will see new faces capable of competing for the name of Qatar such as Rashid Al Naimi, it’s expected that this driver will perform well in this rally, as he has enough experience gained throughout his participation in Middle East Championship for rally this season.
