DOHA: Tickets for the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2013, featuring top star names such as Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer are currently on sale online.
The ATP event will be played from December 31, 2012 to January 5, 2013 at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
Top-ranked Spaniard, Nadal, is set to make his return to tennis since he was sidelined with a knee injury at the 2012 Wimbledon. The 26-year-old was forced to miss the London 2012 Olympics as well as the US Open in September. Apart from Nadal, last season’s runner-up Gael Monfils and world number ten Richard Gasquet will also be seen in action
Tournament director, Karim Alami said: “The Qatar ExxonMobil Open is a cornerstone in the Qatar sports calendar. This is the 21st year the event has been held and the stars that have played here include legends of the game.”
He added: “This year promises to be an exciting event with crowd favorites like Rafael Nadal and Gael Monfils along with David Ferrer and Richard Gasquet who look to make a splash in Doha this year. We are honored that Nadal has chosen Qatar as the place to return to competitive tennis since his injury sidelined him earlier in the year.”
