The 8-day cultural village at Hyatt Plaza was built on the basic principle of embracing Qatari traditions, celebrating young talent and envisioning the Qatari future.
“Your highness, you are a good man and every Qatari values you” said young Fahad Youssef, one of the winners of the Tree of Qatar contest for Hawiyati, National day celebrations. Organised by Hyatt Plaza Shopping Mall and its partners, the contest invited 5-to 10-year olds to write a message and express their love to Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the nation of Qatar.
More than 4,000 kids wrote words that came straight from the heart, expressing their love and pride being part of Qatar. Zayed Jamal pledged his best for Qatar: “I give my soul to Qatar, the best country in my eyes”, while Malak Abdel Fatah wrote to the Father Emir: “You brought the heritage to life and created the basis for Qatar’s emancipation”. Hyatt Plaza Shopping Mall announced prizes worth QR15,000 for the winners of this contest.
Feroz Moideen, General Manager of Hyatt Plaza Shopping Mall said: “As a mall it was our immense pride to support the nation by highlighting its impressive culture. The Tree of Qatar was an initiative that portrays love for our nation through the words of the young generation. The overwhelming response to this initiative and the creativity showcased by children was amazing. A young kid who loves the nation is a good promise for the society and the country”.
