A Sichuan Opera artiste breathes fire during a performance to celebrate the Chinese New Year, in Tiantai village of Chongqing municipality, yesterday. The opera, well-known for “bian lian” or face-changing where performers change masks in quick succession with a wave of the hand or by turning around, is one of the oldest forms of Chinese opera.
