Doha: The QMMF Racing Team and the Zelos rider, Xavier Simeon yesterday signed a contract for the next two seasons on the sidelines of the Malaysian Grand Prix in Sepang, Malaysia.
According to details available here, the 26-year-old Belgian rider will race for the prestigious team of the federation of Qatar in 2016 and 2017.
With the Team QMMF, Xavier Simeon will ride the very competitive Speed Up bike.
After his victory this year at the Sachsenring, the signature of this contract opens up new and very promising possibilities for the Belgian rider for the next two years. The QMMF Racing Team, managed by Nasser bin Khalifa Al Attiyah, and Zelos welcomed this agreement with great enthusiasm.
“Signing a contract with the team of such a strong federation as the Qatari one is wonderful, said Xavier.
“This is an amazing opportunity for my career. I am very enthusiastic about this two year collaboration. I very much wanted to join the QMMF Team.
“This two year contract will give me the opportunity to race with great serenity and give the best of myself. Riding a Speed up is a big challenge but I can see that the bike is competitive and I am very confident for the next two seasons,” he added.
Attiyah said: “We are delighted and glad on the agreement with Xavier Simeon.”
“We believed and trust his ability and we know very well that he is capable to bring results to our team for 2016 and 2017,” he added.
Zelos CEO Freddy Tacheny said: “I’m honoured and delighted to join the prestigious team of the Qatar federation.”
