DOHA: As the QNB Stars League (QSL) organisers target the ‘best-ever’ edition, hugely popular Al Kass Sports Channel is also gearing up for extensive coverage of the prestigious competition set to kick off on August 4.

Turki Al Subaie, Technical Head at the Al Kass Sports Channel, said the sports channel has produced a series of new programmes to be broadcast during the new QSL season that wil feature 12 teams.

“We, at Al Kass Sports Channel, are constantly developing and recording material to be broadcast for our football fans,” Al Subaie said during the launch of new QSL season at W Doha Hotel, yesterday.

“This has been a routine practice over the years - to produce fresh and engaging content and we have done the same for the new season as well,” he added. Al Subaie thanked the QSL and the Qatar Football Association (QFA) for providing them with all possible resources during the regular football season including the Amir Cup and the Qatar Cup.

He stressed that there are many programmes associated with the QSL notably the “Majlis’ series in which football pundits provide in depth analysis during and after matches. Al Subaie said some of the programmes are tailored to suit young viewers who seek to learn the game from experts.

He pointed out that Al Kass Sports Channel also produces special telecasts during key games like the ‘El Clasico’ derbies between Al Rayyan and Al Sadd. Al Subaie said around 35 programmes will be broadcast during the regular season.

“There are special programmes for Qatari professionals and then there are shows for foreign professionals. We also have special programmes for the fans who want to get information related to venues and teams ahead of key matches,” he said.
