DOHA: For the academic year 2016-17, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar’s (CMU-Q) students represent 40 nations, including its first freshmen from Albania, Japan and Kazakhstan.
CMU-Q announced that 413 students are enrolled, including 100 new ones.
Ilker Baybars, Dean and CEO, said: “We are educating our students to be global professionals, to understand how to negotiate and thrive in an international setting. Throughout their undergraduate education, our students work together, create projects and compete as teams, building crucial skills to work in a global marketplace.”
In the new academic year, Qatari enrolment has increased to 43 percent.
CMU-Q offers five undergraduate degree programmes in business administration; biological sciences; computer science; computational biology; and information systems.
Applications are being accepted for August 2017 admission.
