Mumbai: In an opinion poll conducted by popular newspaper, Deccan Chronicle, 82 per cent of online readers said it was time for veteran batsman Sachin Tendulkar (pictured) to bow out after his poor form continued.
Hindi news channel Aaj Tak  said the “god of cricket” seems to losing his sheen.
However, the batsman received support from the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI), yesterday.
“He will hang up his boots when he thinks it’s time for him to go. He does not need any advice on this. Before making a comment on his performance you have to see his colossal record and his past performance,” BCCI official Rajiv Shukla said after the defeat yesterday.
Meanwhile, The All India Senior Selection Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will meet at noon today to pick the Indian team for the last two cricket Tests and two Twenty20 Internationals against England.
The third Test will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata from December 5 to 9.
The fourth match will be held at the VCA Stadium in  Nagpur from December 13 to 17.AGENCIES
