Municipality Ministry intensifies rain preparedness efforts

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality’s joint rainfall emergency committee has intensified preparations and readiness to deal with the rains through cooperation and coordination between the competent authorities in the municipalities, the ministry’s unified call centre and the concerned authorities in the country.

In cooperation with the ministry’s competent departments, the rain emergency teams in the municipalities supplied work teams with equipment and mechanisms necessary to handle water logging on a timely basis and around the clock. In addition, coordination took place between the joint rainfall emergency committee and the Ministry of Interior’s concerned authorities to facilitate traffic movement.

During the previous period, the municipalities’ emergency rooms implemented field simulations of some scenarios for dealing with rain reports and the mechanism for receiving these reports, in coordination with the main operations room of the unified call centre via the number 184, in addition to the number 188 of the Public Works Authority.
