ASSEN, Netherlands: Reigning world Moto GP champion Jorge Lorenzo was receiving medical attention after a high-speed crash in yestreday’s second free practice session for the Dutch Grand Prix.
With the rain falling on the slippery Assen circuit the Spaniard, who had dominated ther opening session, lost control of his Yamaha coming out of a fast bend.
Visibly shaken and clutching his left arm, he was taken away in an ambulance to the circuit’s medical centre. Lorenzo is placed second in the rider’s championship, seven points behind compatriot Dani Pedrosa of Honda, ahead of tomorrow’s race, which is the seventh leg of the season.
