Student Council

Doha: Students of English Modern School Doha (EMS) elected their new senior and middle school Student Council.

Candidates from each division and class were elected by the student body to represent them as members of the Student Council. From this council the executive positions will be voted on. The elected candidates represent the EMS diverse and multicultural student body.

The Student Council aims to initiate programs and projects that cater to the demands of the student body as well as promote leadership and teamwork.  The high school student council is made up of one representative from each form class. Year 12 classes were able to select one boy and one girl from their class. These four students will be interviewed by a committee to determine the Head Boy and Head Girl for the high school. Middle school student council followed much the same model as this is the first year that the school celebrates student leadership in the middle school. So far the students are really stepping up.  Top priorities on their agenda for change included: updated school uniform, more field trip opportunities, and more sport activities.
The student council working with both the middle school counsellor Alexa Wolfgram and high school Kamilah Crowder will provide the student body with a voice while allowing young leaders to flourish.
