Washington: Apple has announced that it is testing a new feature to record phone calls in the iPhone app, where users will be able to record their calls easily by clicking on the new recording option that appears in the app interface. The app will display an audio waveform and the recording duration, allowing users to clearly follow the recording.

The new feature includes text transcription. When recording a call, the audio can be transcribed directly into the Notes app. This feature allows users to convert voice conversations into written texts, making it easier for them to review the content or use it for other purposes. A summary of the call can also be generated using Apple's new artificial intelligence system.

The feature includes privacy notifications that informs all call participants when a recording is taking place, ensuring compliance with legal consent requirements. In addition, the record feature supports multiple languages, including English, Spanish, German, French, and Japanese, reflecting Apples commitment to global user accessibility.

Since its launch in 2007, Apple's iOS system has not offered a built-in call recording feature, leading users to rely on external apps or devices. Despite numerous updates, this feature was officially absent until now. Apple has announced that iOS 18 will introduce call recording, addressing user demand while focusing on privacy protection and legal compliance.
