Doha: Ministry of Development Planning data showed that the population in Qatar in October totalled over 2.412 million, up 8.8 percent compared to the same month last year.
The data published in the new edition of the bulletin, Qatar: Monthly Statistics, included annual social and economic and statistical changes in October.
It showed that the number of visitors to Qatar increased by 4.9 percent until October compared to the corresponding period last year. GCC visitors, estimated at 44.7 percent of the total, constituted the majority.
Beneficiaries from social security in October totalled 12,216 Qataris, a monthly drop by 1.3 percent compared to September when they totalled 12,382.
Regarding marriage contracts and divorces, the data showed that marriage contracts registered in October increased by 4.2 percent compared to September with 3,152 since the start of the year and until October. Cases of divorce dropped by 52.6 percent or 1,233 during the period. The data also revealed that vehicles registered in October totalled 9,812 compared to 8,090 in September.
