Doha: The Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRI), based in Doha, organised yesterday a conference, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, in cooperation with the Independent Commission for Human Rights — ICHR in the State of Palestine.

The conference aims to shed light on the systematic violations of Palestinian human rights by the occupation authorities in the occupied Palestinian territories, and to identify steps and mechanisms to confront them in the future to embody, activate and strengthen international solidarity. The conference was attended by heads, activists and representatives of national institutions that are members of the Arab Network, as well as some partner organizations, in addition to activists and representatives of international institutions and solidarity groups with the Palestinian people.

In his opening speech during the conference, the Executive Director of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions Sultan bin Hassan Al Jamali, stressed that there is no cause in the world more rightful like the Palestinian cause.

He said that this is supported by dozens of resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly and the Security Council, but the occupation still exists and continues with its settlement plan, which aims to rob the rest of historic Palestine, to make the two-state solution impossible.

He also indicated that the unification of the Palestinians would enable them to determine their own destiny and would give the international decisions their executive force in restoring rights and building an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, calling for the need to enhance freedom of expression and acceptance of the other opinion and renounce hate speech, enhance freedom of assembly and association, strengthen democracy and share power and combat hate speech.

Head of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) and Permanent Representative of Senegal to the United Nations Cheikh Niang gave a video speech on the inalienable Palestinian rights.

He explained that the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) stated, despite all the decisions and efforts made by the international community, the Palestinian issue is still unresolved, as Israel continues its occupation by expanding its illegal settlements in addition to confiscating property and buildings and displacing of Palestinian families.
