Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education yesterday called on parents to take part in the efforts aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus by getting students over 12 years old vaccinated.

The Ministry also advised parents to continue conducting weekly COVID-19 tests for those under the mentioned age in order to preserve and protect them.

The Ministry  urged teachers to take the booster dose to ensure safety and health of everyone, and to move forward in the fight against the COVID-19 in its various stages, stressing that everyone adhere to the rules of general hygiene, social distancing and face masks wearing.

In a statement issued yesterday, the Ministry stressed that the cooperation of all parties helps to make the school environment safe and healthy and provides protection for students and employees of the education institutes, through full adherence to preventive and precautionary measures and following the instructions of the Ministry of Public Health to address the COVID-19, especially the instruction of taking the booster dose in order to boost required immunity.

The Ministry had recently asked, through a circular, those wishing to travel during the mid-year vacation whether from the administrative staff and teachers or students to keep a follow up on updates on travel policy while leaving or returning to Qatar.

The Travel and Return policy is in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and issued by the Ministry of Public Health on its official website. This will require adjusting returning time to Qatar in sufficient time so that employees and students coming from travel can fulfil the quarantine requirements and go through the post-travel required tests.
