Doha, Qatar: The convenient process for Hayya A1 Tourist Visa has reunited many families in Doha during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr celebrations.
Several expatriates have chosen to bring their family members here instead of travelling home. Some of them have visited Qatar for the first time and express a strong admiration for the country, its transport, tourist attractions and culture.
Travellers from 102 countries can enter visa-free, while all others can easily apply for an e-visa through the Hayya platform. The Hayya A1 Visa obtained through the Hayya platform is valid for 30 days from the date of entry into Qatar.
The Peninsula spoke to several expatriates who shared their positive experiences with the convenient visa process and the joy of having their family members visit Qatar, making the celebrations even more memorable.
“This is the first time I’ve had my parents with me in Qatar for Ramadan and Eid,” said Salih K M, an Indian expatriate.
He added that the visa process was incredibly smooth and convenient.
“Traveling to my home country during this season can be quite costly, especially with airfare for three people. Instead, I decided to bring my parents on an A1 visa, allowing them to experience the vibrant Eid celebrations in Qatar. They are also enjoying the beautiful weather and the numerous activities available here,” he said.
As a photographer, Salih has explored Qatar, and now he is able to share that experience with his parents. “I’ve had the opportunity to take them to some of the best spots, including Katara Cultural Village, Lusail, and the beautiful Umbab Beach, where we had a memorable Iftar,” he shared.
Others echoed similar sentiments, highlighting how special it felt to celebrate Ramadan and Eid in Qatar with family members. Some have visited multiple times. Families visiting Qatar have not only had the opportunity to witness the country’s Islamic traditions during Ramadan and Eid but also explore Qatar’s rich culture and vibrant tourism scene.
Ansaf Ameer, a Sri Lankan expatriate, said, “Every year, I celebrate Ramadan and Eid with my mother here in Qatar, as I am unable to travel to Sri Lanka due to work commitments. I always ensure she is here during this special time. The A1 visa is an excellent option for a short-term stay, allowing her to experience Ramadan in Qatar.”
“My mother loves traveling, exploring new cuisines, and meeting people, so she is truly enjoying her time here."
“She also appreciates the Qatari culture of sharing and caring during Ramadan, which has made her visit even more special,” he added.
Muna, a Sudanese teacher in Qatar, shared that her father enjoys the Ramadan and Eid atmosphere in Qatar. “We have a large Sudanese community in Qatar, so he doesn’t miss the traditions and community togetherness we have back home.” Commending the inclusive and hospitable atmosphere, she said, “My father is in a wheelchair, and there is always someone who volunteers to assist him during Ramadan and Eid prayers.”
Afia, a visitor from Bangladesh who is visiting her husband in Qatar for the second time, shared that during her previous visit, she traveled to Saudi Arabia and performed Umrah. “This is my second time in Qatar, and I must say, the atmosphere in the mosques and the streets during Ramadan is incredible. Being here for Eid is an exceptional experience,” she said, adding that the Hayya A1 visa system is a great option for those like her who are unable to move to Qatar as residents due to professional commitments.
